In five years, Maison Scarlett has grown from an e-commerce site with no inventory of its own into one of France's leading jewelry box brands, stocked by Galeries Lafayette and Printemps alike. Over the past year, it has doubled its business, with a product return rate of just 0.9% and 93% customer satisfaction with delivery.
For Maison Scarlett, logistics has never been a cost line to optimise but rather a growth and loyalty lever, built over time with the same operational partner.
Two sales channels, one logistics operation
Maison Scarlett sells through two channels today: an e-commerce site (Shopify) and a fast-growing retail network, from Galeries Lafayette to Printemps, with listings in 1,200 points of sale. Since 2022, both channels have also been expanding outside France, in Germany, Italy, Belgium and the UK.
Both channels share the same stock and operational setup, allowing Maison Scarlett to enter new markets or add retailers without rebuilding its logistics. The catalogue remains deliberately focused, with around ten models in a range of materials and colours and an average order value of 60 to 70 euros.
"What's interesting with Bigblue is that all of our logistics processes (storage, picking and packing, delivery, returns) are handled by the same partner. One single point of contact for everything, that's what allows us to move fast."Benjamin Plane, co-founder of Maison Scarlett
When Maison Scarlett launched in late 2020, it operated on a made-to-order basis, with products shipped directly by the supplier. The model soon showed its limits: delivery took around ten days, and the brand had no control over product quality. The founders, Benjamin and Louis, then decided to purchase their own inventory to regain control of their margins and customer experience.
"After receiving our first order of around 10,000 pieces, we needed to find a fulfilment partner quickly. Bigblue was our first logistics partner, and it remains ours today."Benjamin Plane, co-founder of Maison Scarlett
60% of annual volume shipped in six weeks
In 2025, Maison Scarlett doubled its shipped order volume, with 60% of its annual activity concentrated between Black Friday and the end-of-year holidays. A jewelry box is a gift first and an accessory second, making demand highly seasonal.
Preparing for that surge starts months in advance: forecasting sales, planning container arrivals, scaling warehouse capacity and anticipating January returns. Maison Scarlett navigated the period without a single service interruption.
"On B2C, Bigblue is always flawless. Including during peak periods."Benjamin Plane, co-founder of Maison Scarlett
Bigblue as a day-to-day management tool
Sales, stock levels and delivery performance: all the information needed to track orders and the customer experience is available in the app.
"Today, I go and find all my data in Bigblue: our sales, our stock, our activity. It has become our management tool, not just our logistics tool."Benjamin Plane, co-founder of Maison Scarlett
That simplicity also benefits a deliberately small team: every new joiner masters the tool within a few days, with no specific training.
"There's still so much old-school logistics technology out there that Bigblue is a bit like the Apple of logistics."Benjamin Plane, co-founder of Maison Scarlett
A customer service team that doesn't grow at the pace of revenue
Maison Scarlett uses Bigblue’s full Customer Experience package, including Fast Tag, a branded tracking page and emails, and a returns portal.
"We double in size every year, but our customer service team doesn't grow at the same pace as our revenue. That's the best indicator that logistics and the post-purchase experience are holding up."Benjamin Plane, co-founder of Maison Scarlett
Outsourcing logistics to focus on the brand
For Benjamin, handing logistics over to a specialised, dedicated partner was above all a strategic choice to reduce operational risk and keep the founders focused on building the brand.
"We know brands that have brought their logistics in-house. When you'd rather keep your energy for the brand and the product, that isn't necessarily the right call. The moment there's a grain of sand in the machine, everything stops. With a partner like Bigblue, it keeps running."Benjamin Plane, co-founder of Maison Scarlett
What's next: a new Maison Scarlett
The founders are now preparing a full rebrand, with a new logo, brand platform, colours, packaging and products. Maison Scarlett aims to develop a more mature image, rooted in the fashion world and aligned with its premium positioning and aspirations to collaborate with other houses.
"Bigblue is the most important partner for our brand: everything our customers receive goes through them."Benjamin Plane, co-founder of Maison Scarlett
