Recipient tax ID checks before shipping
Bigblue now checks recipient tax IDs before fulfilling B2C orders to Brazil, Mexico, and South Korea. Orders with a missing or invalid ID move to Action required rather than shipping without it.
The identifiers are CPF for Brazil, RFC for Mexico, and PCCC for South Korea. Bigblue can detect an ID entered in an address line. If it can't find one, you can add it on the order page, or the buyer can enter it from their tracking page.
The ID is included on export documents and sent electronically to FedEx, UPS, Correos, Colissimo, Starlinks, Asendia, and Maersk. La Poste Delivengo's API does not support sending it.
Collecting the ID at checkout avoids holding the order while you request it from the buyer. On Shopify Plus, you can use Checkout Blocks to save it as an order metafield under the checkoutblocks namespace: br_cpf, mx_rfc, or kr_pccc, depending on the destination.
This release covers B2C orders only.
