Schedule split fulfilments for preorders

In Workflows, you can now choose a preparation date for the separate fulfilment created by Resolve backorder → Split fulfillment.

Available items stay in the original fulfilment and can ship immediately. Backordered items move to a separate fulfilment and won't enter preparation before the date you choose, even if stock arrives earlier.

For example, if a preorder product launches on 18 November, you can receive stock ahead of time and keep those items on hold until then. The date controls when preparation can start; it is not a delivery date.

Open your Resolve backorder workflow, select Split fulfillment, and fill in Schedule split fulfillment. Leave the field empty to keep the existing behaviour: the separate fulfilment becomes eligible for preparation when stock is available. A date already in the past is ignored.

The date only applies to the separate fulfilment created by this action. If every item is backordered, no separate fulfilment is created and the date does not apply.
